The critically acclaimed TV show Lost, which debuted in 2004, ran for six seasons and gained a dedicated fanbase. It tells a mysterious and mind-bending story about a group of plane crash survivors and the strange events they experience on an island.
It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly two decades since the show premiered. It feels like just yesterday we were all shocked by the series’ big twists and watching our favorite characters unravel the secrets of what appeared to be Purgatory. Let’s take a look at how the cast has changed and what they’ve been up to since.
1. Jorge Garcia
Jorge Garcia became a global sensation after Lost. Since the show, he has continued acting successfully. On a personal note, Jorge has been happily married to his wife, Emily, since 2005. The two met while filming Lost in Hawaii.
2. Matthew Fox
Matthew Fox landed the role of Dr. Jack Shephard after Michael Keaton turned it down. Originally, his character was meant to die early in the series, but the writers kept him alive, allowing Fox to remain a central figure throughout all six seasons. Fox continues acting in both TV shows and movies today.
3. Ian Somerhalder
Not every character survived the crash on Lost, and not all actors transitioned smoothly to other Hollywood roles. Fortunately, Ian Somerhalder found success after Lost by starring in The Vampire Diaries from 2009 to 2017. In his personal life, Ian has been happily married to actress Nikki Reed since 2015.
4. Maggie Grace
Maggie Grace has thrived in Hollywood even after Lost ended. She landed roles in major films like Twilight and Knight and Day, not just for her beauty, but also for her acting talent.
5. Josh Holloway
Josh Holloway, the fan-favorite actor known for his charm, faced some challenges after Lost. He tried his hand at action movies, but none of them became major hits. His show Intelligence was canceled after just one season, and his brief appearance in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol ended with his character’s early death. It’s been a tough journey.
6. Dominic Monaghan
Dominic Monaghan’s character, the heroin-addicted rocker Charlie, won over audiences with his warmth and vulnerability. In the years since Lost, Dominic has experienced both highs and lows. He starred in the Swedish crime series Code 100, a thriller full of surprises. He also appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
7. Kim Yunjin
Like her co-star Josh Holloway, Kim Yunjin got married shortly after filming Lost. She and her fiancé didn’t even leave the set—the beautiful Hawaiian scenery served as the perfect backdrop for their romantic wedding.
8. Terry O’Quinn
Terry O’Quinn won both an Emmy and a Saturn Award for his portrayal of John Locke in Lost. Following the show, O’Quinn became friends with series producer JJ Abrams, which led to new opportunities. He is currently starring in Resident Alien, and has also appeared in The Blacklist and FBI: Most Wanted.
9. Michael Emerson
It’s hard to believe, but Michael Emerson, who played the mysterious leader of the “Others,” is now 68 years old. After Lost, Emerson took on various roles, but none quite matched his standout performance in Person of Interest.
10. Evangeline Lilly
Since Lost, Evangeline Lilly has secured some fantastic roles, including Tauriel in The Hobbit trilogy and Hope van Dyne in Marvel’s Ant-Man films. Her success makes her one of the most accomplished actors from the Lost cast. Personally, she’s married to Norman Kali, an assistant director from Lost, and they have two children together.
